Move over Naples. Whole Foods is coming to south Fort Myers, the real estate community learned at the real estate industry's Market Trends event Wednesday night.
"It's the right place at the right time," said Land Solutions CEO Randy Thibaut, who headlines the region's market forecast and brokered the Whole Foods commercial transaction. "It will be well-received, and we're happy to be a part of it."
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Nov. 4, 2015) — Whole Foods Market, the leading natural and organic food retailer, has announced plans to open a new 45,000-square-foot location in Fort Myers. Slated to open late 2017, the store will be located at the intersection of Daniels Parkway and Ben C. Pratt/6 Mile Cypress Highway.
With a door buster special flier in hand, Aaron Nitz waited patiently Wednesday morning with a growing group of loyal shoppers and curious residents waiting to gain access to one of the most highly anticipated store openings on the Peninsula: Whole Foods.
“Well, it's a great place to find quality food,” said Nitz, who, with his wife, owns two electric cars they can charge at one of Whole Foods' five charging stations. “We can charge our cars and shop. It's good for us.”
Nitz certainly wasn't alone.
Whole Foods Market will open its first store in Newport News at the Marketplace at Tech Center on Nov. 4. The company will hold a bread-breaking ceremony at 8:45 a.m., and doors will open to the public at 9 a.m.
