Panera one of new tenants to join Whole Foods in Daniels Marketplace
S.J. Collins Enterprises, a commercial real estate development firm, has signed eight additional tenant leases for Fort Myers’ newest retail shopping district, Daniels Marketplace.
In addition to a 45,000-squarefoot Whole Foods Market, the first in Fort Myers, the retail hub’s newest mixed-used occupants include Banfield Pet Hospital, Felix Andrews Salon — an Aveda salon, KeKe’s Breakfast Café, Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers, Panera Bread, Pet- People, Venetian Nail Spa and Zoes Kitchen. Tenant space ranges from 2,800 square feet to more than 5,500 square feet.
Construction on Daniels Marketplace is slated to begin in the spring, with an opening of the retail hub expected in summer 2018. The project unanimously received zoning approval from the Lee County Commission in October 2016 for the proposed 140,000-square-foot commercial project.
“We are pleased to introduce this strong tenant lineup to the diverse retail mix at Daniels Marketplace,” said Jay Douglas, director of leasing for S.J. Collins Enterprises. “The Fort Myers commercial market is strong, and 75 percent of the space is either leased or under negotiation.”
Located at the northwest intersection of Daniels Parkway and Ben C. Pratt/Six Mile Cypress Parkway in south Fort Myers, the site location is currently comprised of a 16.5-acre driving range and an adjacent existing stormwater pond. The adjacent 95,000 square feet will be transformed with a refined and diverse merchandising mix, including fast-casual dining, boutique retail, outdoor dining options and other high-end shops.
As part of the site’s development, S.J. Collins Enterprises plans to create open space, high-end architecture, native landscaping and a walkable lifestyle environment, ensuring community members have the option of walking or biking to the retail hub. The team will also relocate the existing lake on Daniels Parkway to provide a buffer between the property owners and the retail center.
